Science Fair Foundation BC Announces Semi-Finalists for the Sixth Annual Youth Innovation Showcase
VANCOUVER, BC (October 10th, 2024) - Today, the Science Fair Foundation BC announced this year's outstanding Semi-Finalists for the Youth Innovation Showcase 2024. A total of 20 projects have been selected to advance to the next round, comprising 10 students in the 12-15 age category and 10 students in the 16-19 age category. These exceptional students will advance to the next stage of the competition, vying for one of two grand prizes of $5,000, one awarded in each age group.
“It is exciting to see that the scale and creativity of submissions for the Youth Innovation Showcase grows every year, and this year is no exception. The level of talent and innovation is truly impressive, and we look forward to kicking off the next round of judging,” said Sarah Prade, Executive Director of The Science Fair Foundation BC. “In a world encumbered by choice, Science Fair Foundation BC aims to eliminate barriers to creative possibilities and allow students to let their imaginations run wild.”
The Youth Innovation Showcase empowers young minds to unleash their creativity in tackling everyday challenges with innovative solutions. It serves as a platform for emerging innovators to turn theoretical concepts into tangible impacts. By connecting with industry and academic leaders, participants can pitch their groundbreaking ideas, gain valuable feedback from experts, and discover the exciting possibilities a career in STEM has to offer.

Finalists will be announced on October 29th, 2024, and will undergo three rounds of interviews with an esteemed judging panel looking at innovation, communication, engagement, and functionality. Winners will then be announced at the Youth Innovation Showcase Awards Show on November 27th, 2024.
