How has your time and experience in Science Fairs impacted your life?
I have taken a lot away academically from my Science Fairs, from a greater knowledge into publishing to a stronger work ethic. I have also taken a lot of personal things from Science Fairs, especially lasting friendships.

Where did you find inspiration for your science projects?
My inspiration for my science projects comes from countless hours of researching renewable energy. I like to look for areas where scientists have not focused on in order to develop an understanding into why the specific area hasn't been researched. From there, I work to further research the problem at hand and work to develop a solution to the problems faced.

Who is someone in science who inspired you? And why?
My Grandpa used to work as a steam engineer and is very knowledgeable into science. Although he is family, he has inspired me to never give up during scientific research and has helped me overcome times where I am overwhelmed in my research.

Can you share a memorable experience you had at a Science Fair?
One of the most memorable experiences I have had was winning an award at the Canada-Wide Science Fair next to a very important person in my life. She had an amazing project and won a challenge award, a gold medal, and a special award. Seeing my lifelong friend have her work pay off all while I was receiving an award was special and has proven to be memorable to me.

Does an interest in Science run in your family?
Yes, my Mother is a science teacher and my Grandpa used to be an engineer.

What advice would you give to fellow students interested in Science?
Science is a promising field and although the work that goes into science can be stressful and overwhelming, every contribution to science, big or small, helps our society. Never giving up and persevering through the tough times of scientific research will pay off in the end.

How many years did you participate in Science Fairs? And at what level?
I have participated in Regional Science Fairs for three years and have made it to the Canada-Wide Science Fair for all of those years.
