VANCOUVER, BC (December 1, 2025) - The Science Fair Foundation BC is proud to reveal the exceptional Finalists for the 2025 Youth Innovation Showcase. Five projects from each age group will now advance to the final round of the competition. From this pool of Finalists, two winners will be chosen to receive a $5,000 grand prize in their respective age categories. This prize will give them the opportunity to scale their innovations for a wider audience. Finalist interviews are scheduled for January 13, 2026. The winners will be officially announced at the Youth Innovation Showcase Awards Show on January 28, 2026.

The Youth Innovation Showcase challenges students to find creative solutions to everyday challenges going on in the world. The level of talent, complexity, and creativity in this year’s projects is outstanding,” said Sarah Prade, Executive Director of The Science Fair Foundation BC. “It’s a fascinating glimpse into how the next generation is approaching the future.

The Youth Innovation Showcase helps young people see how their ideas can make a difference. Through partnerships with industry leaders and academic institutions, these young innovators have been able to present their groundbreaking concepts and receive feedback from experts.

Ages 12-15:

• Kushal Polamarasetty - VARION: The Self-Refueling Ion Thruster

Ages 16-19:

• Tanvir Mundra - Saponin Surfactants: Harnessing Soap Nut Saponins for Sustainable Cleaning Solutions
• Kobe Li - Navig8 Smart Glasses
• James Zhang - Posture Pendant
• Helena Bahramirad - EcoEyes -- Bio-Inspired Data Center Optimization
• Sameer Assanie & Bobby Yang - Airlume
