January 28, 2026, Vancouver, BC - The Science Fair Foundation of BC has just announced the winners for their seventh-annual Youth Innovation Showcase, a STEM competition where two grand prize winners take home $5,000 in each age category to expand their respective projects. 

The winners are as follows: 

Young Innovator of the Year 2025 

12-15 Age Category: 

• Nara Harvey - AI-Driven Sailboat to Combat Marine Poaching 

16-19 Age Category: 

• Sameer Assanie & Bobby Yang - Airlume 

People’s Choice Award 2025 

12-15 Age Category: 

• Krivan Mirok - Mindscribe 

16-19 Age Category: 

• Tanvir Mundra - Saponin Surfactants: Harnessing Soap Nut Saponins for Sustainable Cleaning Solutions 

YIS Visionary Award 2025 (Sponsored by TKS) 

12-15 Age Category 

• Alvin Sheng - SweatSense: A Sweat-Based Wearable Technology for Monitoring Glucose and Dehydration Using ML and Colorimetric Analyses 

16-19 Age Category 

• Kobe Li - Navig8 Smart Glasses 

The creativity we saw at this year's Youth Innovation Showcase only continues to grow with the expansion of technology and innovation. The projects displayed a depth of thinking, embodying the spirit of what we aim to foster and exploring the possibilities in STEM to solve common challenges in our everyday lives," said Sarah Prade, Executive Director of Science Fair Foundation BC. “On behalf of the Foundation, I want to extend our immense gratitude to every student who participated.
