The STEM Classroom Grant is a funding opportunity for educators across BC and the Yukon to explore science, technology, and innovation by adding STEM events to their classroom, their school, or their community. Educators are encouraged to collaborate on a STEM opportunity with others either from the same school or from different schools.
Created for educators looking for financial support in their pursuit of STEM inquiry, the STEM Classroom Grant is inviting BC and Yukon educators to apply for funding that will help them provide unique STEM opportunities for their students. Grants of up to $500 will be awarded to successful applicants who can demonstrate the grant money will substantially contribute to their students, their school, and their community.
Applicants will be asked to describe their STEM opportunity, who will be impacted, and how the STEM Classroom Grant funding will be used in relation to their STEM opportunity.
Eligible Expenses:
The following is a non-exhaustive list of items and services that funding may be used to purchase:
- Relevant expenses necessary to providing a STEM opportunity for your students (e.g., Science Club, classroom or school science fair, completion of a STEM project that could be used in regional science fairs, travel to science fair)
Objectives:
- To reduce financial barriers for educators in BC and the Yukon to develop unique STEM opportunities for their students and their community
- Increase number of students participating in classroom / school science fairs
- Increase the number of educators who are comfortable organizing a science fair or STEM event in the classroom / school, therefore increasing the number of science fairs taking place in BC and YK
Who Can Apply?
Educators who:
- Live in BC or the Yukon
- Plan to organize or participate in a science fair or equivalent program in BC or the Yukon in 2025-2026
Note: If working with a multiple educators, please submit only one application per STEM opportunity.

Apply for a STEM Classroom Grant — grants of up to $500 are available to educators in BC and the Yukon who plan to create a STEM event or opportunity for their students, school, or community during the 2025–2026 school year.
Grant intake opens

Frequently Asked Questions
- Provide a STEM opportunity for your students (e.g., Science Club, classroom or school science fair, completion of a STEM project that could be used in regional science fairs)

Applications will open May 26, 2025. You must submit an application form.
In your application form, you will be asked for the following information:
- Your name and contact information
- A description of your proposed STEM event
- Why you need a STEM Classroom Grant
- A detailed list of the items you would like funded and their costs
- What you think the impact of your project will be
- A commitment to reporting to us after your project is complete
Note: Only one application per school can be submitted.
Grant funding is limited. Preference will be given to educators from schools who:
- Demonstrate a financial need
- Clearly explain their STEM event and the potential impact of funding
We will let successful applicants know if they will receive funding in mid-July 2025. Funds will be given to successful applicants by August 2025.
Make a great STEM event! You will also need to send us a report in the Spring showing us how you used your funds and how they had an impact on your school & community.
